Cybersecurity Courses in Baku

Log Academy runs cybersecurity courses in Baku across five programs: Blue Team, Red Team, DevSecOps, Linux Administrator and IT for Kids for ages 7–14. Classes run in person in Baku or live online (IT for Kids is in person only). 70% of class time is hands-on practice, and every student gets a personal lab available 24/7.

Which course should you start with?

It depends on your background. If you are new to IT, start with Linux Administrator or Blue Team: both begin with a foundation module and require no coding.

System and network administrators usually move naturally into Blue Team, which covers log analysis, SIEM and incident response. Developers and DevOps engineers are a good fit for DevSecOps: CI/CD, container and Kubernetes security.

If you already have Blue Team or networking experience, Red Team teaches penetration testing, Active Directory attacks and professional report writing, all inside a closed lab. For children aged 7–14, IT for Kids is a two-year, step-by-step program.

How do the courses work?

70% of class time is practice: every topic ends with a lab task. Each student gets a personal vSphere-based virtual machine that stays open 24/7, after class too, for the whole course.

Groups have 8–12 students, so the instructor can follow everyone's work. Classes run in person in Baku or live online; online groups get the same lab environment and the same instructor support. We also run corporate training for companies.

Every program ends with a final project: a full investigation, solution and report based on a real scenario. That work becomes the core of your portfolio.

What happens after the course?

Students who complete the program and the final project receive an academy certificate. We also give separate guidance on preparing for international certification exams; for example, the Linux Administrator program covers the RHCSA exam topics.

A career module is part of the training: CV and LinkedIn review, technical interview practice and referrals to job openings. We do not guarantee employment, but we help you enter the job market with a portfolio and interview experience.

How do the programs differ?

Blue Team and Red Team are two sides of one field. Blue Team teaches defence: collecting logs, correlating events in a SIEM, writing detection rules and investigating incidents. Red Team teaches you to think like an attacker, from reconnaissance and exploitation to Active Directory attacks and a client-ready report. Both take six months, but Red Team expects prior experience.

DevSecOps and Linux Administrator cover infrastructure from different starting points. Linux Administrator is a four-month beginner program: the command line, services, networking, hardening and automation with Bash and Ansible. DevSecOps is a six-month intermediate course for people who already code or run servers, building security checks into CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes and Terraform.

IT for Kids is a separate option for parents: a two-year, step-by-step program for ages 7–14, moving from algorithmic thinking in Scratch to Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript and Arduino. Each semester ends with the child presenting their own project, and parents receive a report. Digital safety basics start in the first module.

How are the lab and the learning process organised?

It starts with a free consultation of about 20 minutes to work out your level and goal and match you to a program. Next comes foundation preparation: Linux, networking and scripting basics. The aim is simple: the whole group starts from the same level, so nobody falls behind in the first weeks.

The core of the training is weekly lab work. Every student uses a personal virtual machine in a vSphere-based lab and repeats each topic hands-on. Groups also play CTF-style team games: one team attacks, the other defends, then roles switch. Our cybersecurity courses use these games to practise skills under pressure, not just by the book.

In programs such as Blue Team and DevSecOps, the next stage is a final project: a full investigation, solution and report on a realistic scenario that anchors your portfolio. Career support comes last: CV and LinkedIn review, technical interview practice and job referrals. Completing the program and final project earns an academy certificate.

Is there a difference between online and in-person classes?

Not in the content. Blue Team, Red Team, DevSecOps and Linux Administrator follow the same program in person in Baku and in live online classes. Online is not recorded video: you work with the instructor in real time, ask questions as they come up and solve tasks with the group. Both formats keep groups to 8–12 students.

The lab is identical too. Online students get the same personal virtual machine, open 24/7 for the whole course, and the same instructor support. So the choice is mostly about convenience: in Baku and enjoy a classroom? Choose in person. Living elsewhere or on a tight schedule? Online fits better.

One exception: IT for Kids runs only as in-person groups in Baku, since the program involves plenty of hands-on work with Arduino and robotics. Companies have a third format, corporate training adapted to the team's needs. Unsure which option suits you? We can decide together in a free consultation.
