DevSecOps Course
Weaving security into the release process: code checks, container hardening, secrets management, and turning infrastructure into code.
Log Academy's DevSecOps course is a six-month, intermediate program taught offline in Baku and live online. Developers, DevOps and systems engineers learn to build security into the release process: SAST, SCA and secret scanning in the pipeline, container image hardening, Kubernetes RBAC and Terraform audits. About 70% of class time is hands-on lab work.
How is DevSecOps different from regular DevOps?
DevOps is about shipping code quickly, automatically and repeatably. DevSecOps adds security checks to that same flow: every commit triggers code and dependency scans, secrets stay out of the repository, container images get signed and infrastructure code is reviewed. The goal is to make security a normal pipeline step rather than a separate audit right before release. That way a misconfiguration is caught before it ever reaches production.
The field sits where cybersecurity meets software engineering. A SOC analyst detects an attack once it is underway, while a DevSecOps engineer works to keep the weak spot from appearing at all. That is why CI/CD security means working daily with both developers and the infrastructure team. Our DevSecOps training is built around those practical habits rather than slides and theory.
What will you actually do in the lab?
Every topic ends with a lab task. On your own virtual machine you build a pipeline, plug in SAST and SCA tools and triage the results: which finding is a real risk and which is a false positive. Then you slim down and sign a Docker image, and write RBAC rules, network policies and admission control in a Kubernetes cluster. In Terraform you check least privilege and configuration drift.
The lab runs on vSphere, each student gets a dedicated virtual machine, and the environment stays open 24/7 for the whole course. After class you can repeat a task, deliberately break a configuration and rebuild it. Making mistakes in a safe environment is the most practical way to avoid making them in a real project. Online groups work in exactly the same lab as offline groups.
What will you leave the course with?
Students who complete the program and the final project receive an academy certificate. We also guide you in preparing for international certification exams, but we do not promise a pass, since that depends on your own preparation. What matters most is the secure pipeline you built from scratch and audited yourself. It becomes the core of your portfolio and a real piece of work you can walk through step by step in an interview.
The career module covers CV and LinkedIn review, technical interview practice and vacancy referrals. Interviews for DevSecOps, DevOps and cloud security roles typically focus on pipeline design, container security and Kubernetes, and those topics form the backbone of the course. Groups are kept to 8–12 people, so the instructor has time to review each student's pipeline individually.

Frequently asked questions
Who is the DevSecOps course for?
The program is designed for developers, DevOps engineers and systems engineers, people who already work with code, servers or the release process. If you are coming to cybersecurity from scratch, starting with the Linux Administrator or Blue Team program is usually the better move. In a free consultation we choose the right starting point together.
I already know DevOps. What does DevSecOps add?
DevOps knowledge is a solid foundation, and DevSecOps adds a security mindset on top. You learn to read SAST, SCA and secret scanning results, harden and sign container images, set up RBAC and network policies in Kubernetes, and audit Terraform configurations. The result is a pipeline that is not only fast but also verified.
How much coding experience do I need?
The course is intermediate. You should be comfortable in a terminal, able to read simple scripts and know the basics of Git. You will not write complex software, but you will need to read code and understand where a finding lives. The first module revisits Linux, Git and CI fundamentals so the whole group starts from the same level.
Is the course offline or online?
Both: offline groups in Baku at Ülvi Bünyadzadə 2, and live online classes. Online groups get the same lab environment and the same instructor support, and your virtual machine is available 24/7. For companies we also run corporate DevSecOps training tailored to the team's stack and goals.
What is the final project?
In the final project you build a secure pipeline from scratch: code and dependency checks, secrets management, a signed container image, Kubernetes policies and Terraform checks. You then audit that pipeline and document your findings. Completing the project is required for the academy certificate, and it becomes the main piece of work in your portfolio.
How do I get started?
Send a request through the form on the site, call, or message us on WhatsApp at +994 50 700 60 70. In a free consultation of about 20 minutes we assess your current level and goals. The first lesson is free, so you can try the format and the lab before you commit. The academy is open every day from 11:00 to 22:00.
