Short answer

Log Academy's Red Team course is a 6-month hands-on program in Baku for people who want to master the offensive side of cybersecurity professionally. In this ethical hacking course, every stage of a penetration test — reconnaissance, vulnerability verification and turning findings into a report — is practised only in an isolated, authorised lab.

What is an ethical hacking course and who is it for?

An ethical hacking course teaches you to look at systems through an attacker's eyes, but the goal is not to break in — it is to find a weakness before a criminal does and get it fixed. Professional penetration testing is always done with the owner's written permission, an agreed scope and clear rules of engagement. Unauthorised access is a crime, so every exercise runs only inside the academy's closed lab.

The program is intermediate level. It is designed for Blue Team graduates, system or network administrators and anyone comfortable with network protocols and the Linux command line. If you do not have that background yet, the free consultation may recommend starting with Linux Administrator or Blue Team first, which makes this stage much smoother.

What do you actually do in the penetration testing course?

About 70% of classes are practical: every topic ends with a lab task. Each student gets a personal virtual environment that stays available 24/7, even after class, so you can repeat exercises at your own pace. Groups have 8–12 people, and classes run offline in Baku or online as live sessions.

The core of the penetration testing course is the full testing cycle: reconnaissance, checking web application and network weaknesses, reviewing the security of an Active Directory environment, and turning findings into a client report. At every stage we also discuss what the defending side can see, because a good pentester must explain how a finding is detected and how it is fixed.

What do you get when the Red Team course ends?

In the final project you run an authorised test against a simulated organisation, rank findings by risk and write both a technical report and a short executive summary. That report becomes the centrepiece of your portfolio and a real work sample to show in job interviews.

Everyone who completes the program and the final project receives a Log Academy certificate. We give guidance for international exams such as OSCP or CEH, but those exams are independent and results are not guaranteed. The career module includes CV and LinkedIn review, technical interview practice and vacancy referrals.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start the Red Team course from zero?

This is an intermediate program that expects Blue Team or networking experience. If you have no technical background yet, we recommend starting with the Linux Administrator or Blue Team course. In the free consultation we assess your level together and choose the right path.

Is ethical hacking legal?

Yes, but only with the system owner's written permission and an agreed scope. Unauthorised access is punishable by law. In the course, every exercise takes place in the academy's closed, isolated lab, and professional ethics and the legal framework are a required part of the program.

What is the difference between a pentest and Red Team?

A penetration test aims to find and document as many weaknesses as possible in a defined system. Red Team emulates a real attacker to test how well an organisation detects and responds to an attack. The course covers the methodology of both, while hands-on practice follows the stages of a pentest.

Can I take the course online?

Yes. There are offline groups in Baku and live online classes. Both formats follow the same program with the same lab environment and instructor support, and your personal virtual lab stays available 24/7 for the whole course.

Do I get a certificate?

Everyone who completes the program and the final project receives a Log Academy certificate. We give guidance for international exams such as OSCP or CEH, but they are run by independent organisations and results are not guaranteed.
